Medicare Supplemental Plans: What Are The 5 Best Plans?

Medigap, also known as medicare supplemental plan in folder next to stethoscope

Medicare supplemental plans also referred to as “Medigap,” are plans that private insurers offer to fulfill individual needs. Medicare has four parts: A, B, C, and D. Each component of Medicare offers coverage for different medical expenses. However, many out-of-pocket costs come with Medicare. Begus Insurance Group helps reduce out-of-pocket costs stemming from medical payments that are not fully covered by Medicare by offering the best plans.

What Exactly Are Medicare Supplemental Plans?

Medicare supplemental plans are offered as plans A through N. Moreover, each plan offers different coverage for each facet of original Medicare (Parts A & B). However, supplemental plans for Medicare are not Medicare Advantage plans. Medicare Advantage merges the forms of Medicare part A (Hospital Insurance) and Medicare part B (Medical Insurance).

A Medicare supplemental plan will utilize the structure of original Medicare while providing coverage for any out-of-pocket costs related to coinsurance, copayments, deductibles, and other expenses.
